Lecturers from the Professional Communication programme as well as members of IUMW’s Communication Team recently held a workshop with high school students at SriKDU International School Klang. The Knowledge Transfer Programme called the “Social Branding Workshop”, gathered 40 high schoolers in a virtual setting for two days, where they learned about social media, its usage, the ethics behind it, and how to develop their own personal brand.

To put their learning into practice, the students worked in teams to create a photo collage that visually represented the personal brand of one of their classmates. The students also met IUMW student Nina, whom herself has a large online following. Nina shared her personal journey with the group, including how she garnered her online following, her own personal brand, the darker side of the online world and how to maintain your privacy online!
