IUMW’s Man of Speed 2017

On 7th of August 2017, students from Foundation of Science (Computer Systems) of IUMW organized the very first Speed Typing Race of the year. The annual Speed Typing Race is a fast typing competition meant to measure the rapidity and accuracy of the participants’ typing skills.

Registration for the competition started at 2.00p.m and ended with prize giving at 4.00p.m. The objectives of this competition were to develop data entry skills and to sharpen touch-typing techniques.

16 students from various classes participated in the competition. The competition was stiff as all participants were adept at their typing skills. In the final round, Mr. Amir Rashid bin Abdullah from the BBA (Hons) in Islamic Finance was crowned the winner. His typing speed record was at 105 words per minute (wpm). He was awarded a lucrative cash prize by the Dean of the Centre for Foundation Studies during the prize-giving ceremony.
