PUTRAJAYA, 14 May 2014 – International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) is collaborating with the National Up-skillng Committee which was established under Human Resources Development Fund Bhd (HRDF), to formally recognise the experiences, skills and abilities of the general workforce.
IUMW is the first private university to be given the honour to train and sharpen the skills of the Malaysian workforce made of graduates who have obtained their Level 4 Diplomas. These graduates from the general workforce are given the chance to further their qualification at IUMW which is owned and recognised by the University of Malaya and the University of Wales, thus giving the best expertise and exposure of both private and public educational institutions.
According to Prof Dr Hamzah A Rahman, President/CEO, “this collaboration is IUMW’s way of contributing towards nation building by training the workforce to become academically qualified in the fields of Business, Information Technology and Professional Communication. We hope such effort will help to produce a workforce which is not only skilled and knowledgeable, but also a workforce which is more productive and empowered”.
IUMW is a platform where effective leadership qualities in particular are moulded into the future generation. IUMW’s core values of entrepreneurship, innovative and sustainability will be the jumping board for the development of better human resources. It is hoped that such collaboration will create a group of high-productivity workforce.
