IUMW, 28 September 2018: The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW), has organised a one day event involving more than 50 students and six lecturers from the Bachelor of Professional Communication.
The event, dubbed "Interaction Day", is a once-in-a-semester event conducted to create connection and bridge the gap between the students enrolled in the Bachelor of Professional Communication programme and the faculty staff.
According to the acting dean of the faculty, Madam Safrena Noreen Abdul Malek, "This event is aimed at nurturing the spirit of togetherness among students. Through this initiative, students and lecturers learn several ways to bridge the gap between them and create a sense of closeness."
During the event, which was held at IUMW's tennis and basketball court, lecturers and students were working hand in hand in multiple interactive games.
"We had so much fun during the event. This is the first such event being held by our faculty and I really felt some sort of bonding spirit among us Communication students," said one of the students, Nur Sabreena Mohd Zaki.
After the games, a short election was held to vote for the committee of the first ever Professional Communication Student Society (PCSS). Six students were selected to hold positions within the society. Semester 5 student, Mas Shahira Aminuddin, has been elected as the president, while Amirul Mukminin Azmi is its vice president.
Over the next several months, PCSS planned to create several events to be conducted throughout 2019 and with the support of the students and staff in IUMW, especially students enrolled in the Professional Communication programme, they're hoping to do even more for the betterment of students' university experience.
