The 5th of July 2018 was a very special day for IUMW's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. The Faculty bore witness to an exclusive signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding with Avisena Specialist Hospital, Shah Alam. This momentous occasion has paved the way for a fruitful collaboration between an international university and a boutique hospital. Through this effort, both parties aim to establish a collaborative education platform for both staff and students. This platform shall encompass valuable training and exposure for mutual benefit and the betterment of society.
Moving forward IUMW and Avisena Specialist Hospital shall work hand-in-hand to organise a broad range of workshops, seminars and programmes. In addition to these, there shall be joint research and development projects between the two organisations. IUMW also plans to set up a Psychology Clinic within Avisena Specialist Hospital's premises.
The clinic shall be overseen by a team of visiting psychologists from the Faculty, led by the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Noor Hassline Mohamed. The noble endeavour will provide affordable psychological services to adults, children, adolescents, families and couples. Also present at the ceremony were Dato' Dr Omar Abd Hamid, President & Chief Executive Officer of Avisena Specialist Hospital and Mr. Stephen Griffiths, Deputy Vice Chancellor of IUMW.
