The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme comprises modules that emphasise the transformational needs of today’s corporate leaders. It provides the tools you need for career advancement and global networking opportunities.

The combination of knowledge from both industry and academia delivered through an applied approach will give you everything you need to excel in your chosen field.
 
  • A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in related fields; OR
  • A Master’s degree in non-related fields with relevant working experience can be
    accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment; OR
  • A Master’s degree in non-related fields without relevant working experience, subject to
    passing prerequisite course; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

    English language competency requirements for international students:
  • Minimum IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 or equivalent
  • English language requirements can be waived if the international student EITHER comes from a country that uses English as the official language OR the entry qualification uses English as the medium of instruction

    Note:
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree qualification, registered for Master’s degree programme may apply to convert candidacy to a Doctoral degree programme within 1 year after the candidate registers for a Master’s degree programme, subject to the following:
    a. having shown competency and capability in conducting research at Doctoral degree level;
    b. rigorous internal assessment by the University; and
    c. approval by the Senate.

Year 3
  • Dissertation elective
The programme has 11 modules including final year dissertation (which weighs 50% of credits). Assessments under the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme are varied; they are based on either full coursework (100%) or a combination of coursework and final examination. The most common combination to be found is 70% for coursework and 30% for the final examination. Classes are held face-to-face and include lectures and tutorials (offline and online). Our students are expected to demonstrate their understanding through several forms of assessments, including but not limited to discussions, essays, reports, presentations, projects and written tests.

Students are expected to undergo a minimum of six (6) long semesters over a span of 3 years. In the final semester, students must submit a complete Dissertation with a maximum of 60,000 words. At the end of the programme, students will have completed 80 credits.
