Resilience during COVID-19: Starting and Sustaining Businesses during the Pandemic

20 November 2020

November 20th, 2020: The Centre for Foundation, Language and Malaysian Studies organised a webinar with guest speakers and business owners Amiza Inting, Terrence Loh, and Tasnim Shah. The webinar focused on starting and sustaining a business during the current pandemic.

During the session, attended by around 100 students, Tasnim Shah shared some of the challenges she faces as an influencer. She told students that despite 'influencing' being looked at as a cheap way to get paid with minimal effort, brands won’t sponsor you if your production quality is low or your reach is not wide enough - a lot happens behind the scenes that people don't see.

When asked for advice on starting a business, both Tasmin and Terrence agreed you should “just do it” - start materialising your ideas and your passion, and people will notice you.
