A Frontliner’s Perspective: Coping with Covid19
October 29, 2020: The School of Science and Psychology organised a webinar with guest speaker Ms Rozita Mohd Sakti, a Medical Laboratory Scientist from Sunway Medical Centre.
During the session, attended by over 40 students from IUMW, Ms Rozita shared some of her challenges from being a frontliner and dealing with Covid-19 screening over the last few months. Prior to the pandemic, working hours were 8am - 5pm but she told students she now finds herself working 13 hours a day, and can no longer be in close contact with family members to avoid any possible infection. It’s a job that requires commitment, patience, and passion, she told students, so they need to consider their choice carefully before committing to becoming a medical laboratory scientist.
