Suicide Prevention Training at Befrienders
A group of students attended Suicide Prevention Training at Befrienders, Kuala Lumpur. Befrienders is an organisation that offers 24/7 emotional support to those who are lonely, in distress, in despair or having suicidal thoughts. During the training, Befrienders Executive Director Mr Kenny Lim covered the importance of communication in suicide prevention, the common issues that the callers have, and the services provided by Befrienders. The training was eye opening very worthwhile - participants left with greater knowledge about the organisation, with new insights on suicidal prevention strategies.
The training was attended by 40 IUMW students, accompanied by Ms Carmen and Ms Aina, and organised by the Centre of Counselling and Psychological Services and IUMW Peer Helpers.
