Programme Overview

Prepare for an exciting career in the dynamic Public Relations (PR) and Event Management industry. Discover how brands communicate with diverse audiences and how reputations and relationships are formed with the public in today’s digital environment. Studying event management will give you in-depth knowledge of the industry and the practical experience you need to start a career working in events.

Throughout the programme, students are exposed to industry practises and they will have hands-on experience of working on real-life industry pitches, projects, and assignments.

We aim to produce graduates who are industry-ready, who can make a positive impact on any organisation, as soon as they begin their chosen career.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Malaysian Students
  • STPM Grade C (GP 2.00) in any three (3) subjects
  • Diploma CGPA of 2.00
  • UEC Grade B in five (5) subjects
  • Foundation/ Matriculation CGPA of 2.00
  • A-LEVEL Pass with Grade D in two subjects
  • Australian Matriculation ATAR 65
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) 24 points across six subjects
Additional Requirements
*Credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent
NOTES
Specific requirements at SPM level can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM / STAM / Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation are equivalent or higher.
International Students
  • Pass A-Level with 2 principal passes or equivalent, recognised by the Malaysian Government; AND
  • IELTS Band 5.0/ TOEFL 500
English Competency Requirements
All international students are bound to the English Competency requirement set by the University and the Malaysian Qualification Agency except those who are:
  • From countries where English is the official language; OR
  • From an academic institution which uses English as its main medium of instruction.

ASSESSMENT

Students of this programme are all primarily assessed through coursework. Classes are held face-to-face, which includes lectures and tutorials (offline and online). Our students are expected to demonstrate their understanding through several forms of assessment, including but not limited to; examinations, quizzes, reports, projects, presentations, and exhibitions.

Students are expected to undergo min four (4) semesters (based on approval for credit transfer) and max six (6) semesters and one industrial training (12 weeks) which amounted to 120 credit hours.
